Terms of Service for Slovo

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Slovo mobile application ("App") operated by Slovo ("we", "our", or "us").

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Slovo is a language learning application that allows users to:

• Create and organize vocabulary flashcards into folders and sets
• Practice vocabulary using a spaced repetition system (SRS) based on the SM-2 algorithm
• Extract words from photos using AI-powered text recognition
• Translate words and phrases between supported languages
• Track learning progress and practice history

3. Subscriptions and Payments

3.1 Free Tier

The App offers a free tier with limited functionality. Free users are limited to 3 AI-powered photo word extractions. All other core features, including creating cards, folders, sets, and practicing with spaced repetition, are available without a subscription.

3.2 Slovo Premium

Slovo Premium is an optional paid subscription that unlocks additional features, including unlimited photo word extractions.

3.3 Billing

• Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account (App Store) or Google account (Google Play) at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the rate of the selected plan.
• You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time through your device's Account Settings (App Store or Google Play).
• Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

3.4 Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective refund policies. We do not process refunds directly.

4. User Content

4.1 Ownership

You retain full ownership of all content you create within the App, including flashcards, folders, card sets, and any associated data. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.

4.2 Local Storage

Your content is stored locally on your device. You are responsible for maintaining backups of your data. Uninstalling the App will permanently delete all locally stored content.

5. AI-Powered Features

The App uses artificial intelligence (Google Gemini) to extract words from photos and provide translations. While we strive for accuracy:

• AI-generated word extractions and translations may contain errors or inaccuracies
• Results depend on image quality, text clarity, and language complexity
• You should review and verify all AI-extracted content before relying on it for learning
• We are not responsible for any errors in AI-generated content

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's servers or infrastructure
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App or its systems
• Use the App to transmit harmful, offensive, or illegal content

7. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, features, and branding, is the intellectual property of Slovo and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Your use of the App is at your sole risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Slovo shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the App.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the App operator resides, without regard to conflict of law principles.
